El pasado año, la compañía británica FreeStyleGames (Activision) nos sorprendió con una nueva forma de videojuegos musicales, renovando el género.
Para esta nueva temporada, han vuelto con interesantes novedades frente a su predecesor, han contado con nuevas incorporaciones y renovados temas de los DJ´s del momento que más están sonando
Nuestro medio para desempeñar las funciones en el juego sigue siendo el Dj Turntable, que consta de un plato giratorio en el que encontramos tres botones de canales (verde, rojo y azul) y una mesa de mezclas con su rueda de efectos, botón para desatar la euforia y un "crossfader slider" para mezclar los canales.
El procedimiento a seguir es pulsar o combinar correctamente los botones y el deslizador del mezclador según vayan apareciendo las indicaciones en pantalla, pudiendo "scratchear" en momentos determinados o aplicar efectos con la rueda. Si recordamos en Dj Hero, la libertad de acción, sólo era viable en la utilización de los samplers, en esta ocasión se da un paso adelante hacia la "improvisación", dotando de mayor libertad al usuario a la hora de efectuar las mezclas entre temas con las nuevas opciones de scratches, samplers y crossfaders de estilo libre. En esta ocasión, se ha desestimado el uso del periférico insignia de Guitar Hero para dar paso al micrófono que se podrá emplear en numerosos temas vocales a través de un segundo o tercer jugador. Haciendo partícipe a más usuarios al mismo tiempo y en diferentes roles, bien como deejays o cantantes.
La fórmula del juego sigue siendo la misma que triunfó en la pasada edición, peomete horas y horas de diversión. En palabras de DJ Tiesto: "DJ Hero 2 trata sobre todo de reunir a personas de distintos lugares, edades y gustos musicales para que se diviertan pinchando su música favorita"
LOS REYES DE LA PISTA
En DJ Hero siguen compartiendo cabina personajes ficticios y deejays de renombre. Se ha ampliado el número de personajes ficticios, acompañándoles otros nuevos y la posibilidad de hacer de nuestros avatares unos afamados pinchadiscos. En cuando a los deejays profesionales y seleccionables que Dj Hero 2 pone a nuestra disposición, cabe decir que han disminuido en número, pero no en calidad, destacando a:
David Guetta, galardonado como tercer mejor deejay mundial en 2009 por la revista DJ Magazine, es un deejay de música electrónica y productor discográfico francés, especializado en música house. Es el más comercialmente conocido por las masas de los integrantes del "line up" de esta entrega de Dj Hero. Sus producciones han sido éxitos de ventas a lo largo del mundo.
Deadmau5, es Joel Thomas Zimmerman, un productor y DJ canadiense del género progressive hard house y minimal trance. Destaca por ser un valor emergente en la comunidad deejay, siendo uno de los 10 mejores en el mundo en los últimos 3 años. Como característica de diferenciación frente al resto, en sus live acts suele realizar unos performances curiosos portando cabeza de ratón, que reprenta su marca y sello de identidad.
Dj Q-bert, es uno de los veteranos deejays norteamericanos representantes de la organización DMC. Lleva el arte del turntablism hasta niveles insospechados.
RZA, Robert Fitzgerald Diggs es newyorkino, rapero, productor y actor estadounidense, creador y líder del del grupo neoyorquino de East Coast rap Wu-Tang Clan. Es una figura destacada en producciones discográficas, pues ha producido álbumes de artistas conocidos internacionalmente.
Tiësto, Tijs Verwest Michiel es un músico holandés, pinchadiscos y productor de discos trance. Desde 2003 está considerado uno de los 3 mejores deejays del mundo.
